(Las Vegas, NM) - Update 4 pm Monday – Repairs to the Storrie Lake Canal are nearing completion with some water already making its way down the canal.

Upon completion the main entry point gate will be raised higher to allow for more water to make its way to the lake.

For clarification, the water that makes its way into the lake via the canal belongs to the Storrie Water Project Users Association.

This particular water does not belong to the City of Las Vegas and will not help to alleviate the City’s water shortage.

The water that does belong to the City is only water that the City pumps into the lake through there pipeline. A meter is located on the pipeline to identify the amount of water that the City puts in. The City leases 500 acre feet of storage in the lake.
